Product Overview

ACPL-C87B-000E is a precision optically isolated voltage sensor. It is an optical isolation amplifier designed specifically for voltage sensing. Its 2V input range and high 1Gohm input impedance, makes it well suited for isolated voltage sensing requirements in electronic power converters applications, including motor drives and renewable energy systems. In a typical voltage sensing implementation, a resistive voltage divider is used to scale the DC-link voltage to suit the input range of the voltage sensor. Applications include isolated voltage sensing in AC and servo motor drives, isolated DC-bus voltage sensing in solar inverters, wind turbine inverters, isolated sensor interfaces, signal isolation in data acquisition systems, general-purpose voltage isolation. Safety and regulatory approvals include IEC/EN/DIN EN 60747-5-5: 1414 Vpeak working insulation voltage, UL 1577: 5000 Vrms/1 min double protection rating, CSA: component acceptance notice #5.

  • 0 to 2V nominal input range
  • Active-high shutdown pin, 100kHz wide bandwidth
  • 3V to 5.5V wide supply range for output side
  • Input offset voltage is 9.9mV max at TA=25°C
  • Magnitude of input offset change vs. temperature is 21µV/°C typ at C TA=-40°C to +105°C
  • Nonlinearity is 0.1% max at VIN=0 to 2V, TA=25°C
  • Input bias current is -0.0015µA typ at VIN=0V
  • Compact, auto-insertable stretched SO-8 package
  • Operating temperature range from -40°C to 105°C
