Product Overview
Many circuits require a constant voltage supply to function correctly, but mains electricity is constantly changing as it is AC (alternating current) which is unsuitable for DC (direct current) circuits. This educational project kit converts a low voltage AC source to a smooth 5V DC output using a full-wave rectifier and regulator. Supplied in kit form, the project can be assembled in under an hour making it ideal for beginners, classroom use and soldering practice.
- Once completed, the circuit will convert low voltage AC to a regulated 5V DC source that can be used to power many projects
- Ideal project for teaching students about voltage conversion and rectification
- The kit utilises a 7805 regulator, capacitors and a full-wave rectifier to show the stages of a basic power supply
- Suitable for beginners, classroom teaching aid and soldering practice
