CPC, part of Farnell & Avnet, is currently recruiting for the role of Inventory Specialist / Buyer. This is a great opportunity to join our Product & Purchasing team based in PRESTON! This is a hybrid role with the ability to work from both home and the office.
Job Summary:
Responds to customer inquiries, expedites critical orders, communicates dispositions, researches and resolves issues, and researches orders.
As one of a team of eight collaborative colleagues, we are looking for a team player, someone with excellent attention to detail and the ability to juggle multiple activities supporting suppliers, customers, internal sales and the warehouse team.

Principal Responsibilities:
- Ensuring product is available and expedited in to cover customer demand and the clearing of any back orders
- Liaise closely with other departments to schedule the delivery of product to meet promotion and delivery deadlines
- Minimising excess and obsolete stock and progress the return of product to suppliers where appropriate
- Ensuring continuous improvement of ‘housekeeping’ standards with regard to the maintenance of data, resolution of queries generated by suppliers, Goods-In, Accounts, etc.
- Working proactively to resolve product shortages through effective expediting, escalation and resourcing
- Negotiating cost downs
- Building and maintaining effective relationships with suppliers, Product Managers and other departments
Work Experience:
- Experience of a similar or related role is advantageous
- Full on the job training will be provided
Distinguishing Characteristics:
- Standard computer, email, phone and communication skills.
- Familiarity with basic MS Office software packages.
- Must be able to multi-task and work in a fast paced environment.
