CPC, part of Farnell & Avnet, is currently recruiting for the role of Product Test Engineer. This is a great opportunity to join our team based in PRESTON!
Job Summary:
This is a full-time permanent role, requiring someone with either a higher level qualification (HND/HNC or equivalent) in Electrical/Electronic disciplines or demonstrable knowledge gained through work experience, particularly around electrical and electronic product testing (consumable electronic products) and evaluation.
Our new team member needs to be proficient in fault finding at component level and able to develop solutions to tasks using new or existing approaches and solutions.
This role is supporting the introduction of new products for sale, therefore you will be completing compliance, registrations processes and producing the necessary compliance documents in line with UK product compliance and safety standards, as such good written and verbal communication are needed.

What will you be doing?
- Testing and evaluating electrical and electronic products to ensure compliance in line with safety standards
- Verifying samples to ensure in line with stated specifications and of satisfactory quality.
- Producing written test reports and recording a summary of key findings.
- Investigating any dangerous or non-complaint product reports.
- Liaising with product management and Compliance manager to facilitate product changes and improvements.
What skills do you need?
- Proven experience in a similar role or a relevant higher level qualification (HND/HNC or equivalent) in Electrical/Electronic disciplines
- Excellent communication skills, written and verbal.
- Knowledge of electrical standards and conformity directives.
- Experience using oscilloscopes and test meters.
- Well organised with proven planning and prioritisation skills.
- Able to work in a fast paced environment and meet deadlines.
- Able to use Microsoft Word and Excel to an intermediate level.
